I am single as well but when those thoughts come into my head, I try to just focus on God for my strength instead of wishing that I had a man.So my question is, how do I be supportive to my friend and show empathy during this time? Also I want to get your perspective of why is it when we go through the tough times like deaths of loved ones that the first thing that we reflect on is that we are single and wishing we had someone?

It's just too painful. They've moved on, you're still in love, they're getting the best of you and the person they're seeing.
